Liqui Contracts Will Launch the New Smart and Sustainable Theodore Bench-Desk System at 100% Design
British furniture and lighting manufacturer Liqui Contracts will launch the new Theodore Bench-Desk System at this year’s 100% Design. A central design destination for architects and designers at the London Design Festival, 100% Design is the ideal showcase for Liqui Contracts’ aesthetic, functional and innovative furnishings.

Theodore Bench-Desk System by Liqui Contracts

The Theodore Bench-Desk System is named after the Theodore Roosevelt desk (made in 1903, the Roosevelt desk served a number of the United States’ presidents and is now used in the main by its vice presidents). A solid piece of craftsmanship, the Roosevelt desk has stood the test of time. In a similar manner, the Theodore Bench-Desk System by Liqui Contracts is designed to serve as a smart, useful and durable platform for any number of work-related activities.

With its minimal and elegant design, the Theodore’s form is modern and unobtrusive. Created as a practical ‘daisy chain’ desk system, the Theodore offers multiple configurations. The standard Theodore desk design is a two-seater workstation: its minimum size is 1200 mm x 650 mm and its maximum size is 1800 mm x 800 mm. This standard desk layout can be arranged in varying lengths, and there is the option of completing the system with an end desk of the same dimensions.

The Theodore Bench-Desk System is manufactured in Britain from 100% FSC certified and sustainable timber. Warm and tactile, the desk’s frame is made of solid oak and its top is made of natural oak veneer birch ply. Liqui Contracts prides itself on its proactive and conscientious approach to sustainability: offcuts from the Theodore desk (waste material that is typically discarded) are used to fashion stationery trays that accompany each desk. In addition, desks can be specified with optional acoustic foam dividers.

During 100% Design, Liqui Contracts will present a number of its furniture and lighting designs along with the new Theodore Bench-Desk System. Designs include: the Milne Chair, Trapeze Chair, Studio Easy Chair, Cooper Tub Chair, Trafford Shade, Splice Pendent and Work Lamp.
