Mauliv Patel: My name is Mauliv Patel. I am the Owner and Founder of Studio TAG, and I have been practicing architecture since 2019.

My design approach focuses on blending contemporary architecture with modern functionality, while always prioritizing the client’s vision and emotions. I believe good design should reflect the personality and lifestyle of the people who will experience the space.

Educational Background
Amrita Jha: Where did you pursue your architectural education?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: I completed my architecture studies from Gupta College of Architecture in Udaipur.

First Steps in the Field
Amrita Jha: Do you remember your first project?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: I don’t remember the exact first project, but every project I’ve worked on has been special to me. Whether residential, commercial, or hospitality projects, I approach each one with dedication and passion.

For me, every project is an opportunity to learn and create something meaningful.

Challenges in the Journey
Amrita Jha: Did you face any major challenges while building your career?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: The biggest challenge actually came before I entered the profession. I was very passionate about cricket, and many people told me that architecture requires strong drawing skills and full dedication.

But once I entered the field and started learning practically, especially during the later years of my studies, I began to truly enjoy architecture.

Personal Life
Amrita Jha: Are you single or married?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: I’m married. It has been three years since my marriage.

Designing Spaces for Children
Amrita Jha: Children room in bungalow project looked very impressive. Could you tell us about it?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: Yes, that was one of my recent projects which I shared on Instagram. The idea was to create a space where a child could play, learn, and grow comfortably within a compact environment.

Designing children’s spaces requires creativity and functionality, and it was an enjoyable project.

Award-Winning Project
Amrita Jha: We also noticed that you received recognition for one of your projects. Could you tell us about it?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: Yes, it was a bungalow project designed for a doctor. The client had a unique requirement of creating a makeup studio within the house.

At the same time, they wanted the design to feel modern while maintaining a subtle rural connection. Balancing these elements made the project unique and rewarding.

Family Background
Amrita Jha: Do you come from an architectural background?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: No, there is no architectural background in my family. The idea of becoming an architect came during my school years when my family suggested the field.

At that time, access to information was limited compared to today. But as I progressed in my studies and started understanding the field better, my interest grew stronger.

IT Office Project in Ahmedabad
Amrita Jha: You also designed an IT office in Ahmedabad that looks quite impressive. Could you share more details about it?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: Yes, the project had around 4,000 sq. ft. of carpet area. The client wanted a modern yet simple office design.

Since the IT industry thrives on creativity, we designed the space in a way that employees would feel relaxed and inspired. We included open areas and recreational elements like a pool table so the office environment wouldn’t feel restrictive.

We also planned the layout considering future expansion, which is important in growing IT companies.

Biizline IT Office in Ahmedabad

“The Screen” Project in Solapur
Amrita Jha: One of your most talked-about projects is The Screen in Solapur, Maharashtra. Could you tell us about it?

Ar. Mauliv Patel: Yes, that project is very close to my heart. The client placed tremendous trust in me and allowed me to take creative decisions freely.

The project included features like a home theatre, professional gym, and elegant interior spaces. The level of trust the client showed made it one of the most satisfying projects of my career.

The Importance of Client Trust
Ar. Mauliv Patel: One important aspect of architecture is trust between the client and the designer.

When clients choose an architect, they should trust the professional they hire. Just like we trust doctors when we go for treatment, a similar level of trust helps architects deliver their best work.

The Screen

Material Selection
Amrita Jha: Where do you usually source materials for your projects?

Ar.
