lifted central cube that invites the city\u2019s street life on site.\u00a0 The spherical 800-seat proscenium theater,\u00a0<b>Globe Playhouse<\/b>, resembles a planet docking against the cube.\u00a0\u00a0<b>Grand Theater<\/b>\u00a0is a 1500-seat space for a wide variety of performing arts genres.\u00a0 Opposite to it and on the same level is the 800-seat multiform theater,\u00a0<b>Blue Box<\/b>, for the most experimental performances.\u00a0 When coupled, the two theaters become the 2,300-seat\u00a0<b>Super Theater<\/b>, a massive space with factory quality.\u00a0\u00a0Equipped with facilities to meet the most challenging pyrotechnical demands of contemporary theater, the spaces have been specially designed to offer\u00a0new theatrical Government\u2019s Department of Cultural Affairs was established in 1999 as Taiwan\u2019s first municipal department dedicated to culture.\u00a0 The department\u2019s role is defined by its four divisions:\u00a0 International Affairs and Policy Making; Cultural Preservation and Heritage; Arts and Humanities; and Public and Community Art Development.\u00a0 The department additionally oversees subordinate organisations including the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, the Taipei Cultural Center, the Taipei City Archives and Zhongshan Hall and the new Taipei Performing Arts Center.\u00a0 Since its inception, the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government has brought significant issues regarding cultural policy to the public\u2019s attention, and has been instrumental in presenting numerous public events to enhance the city\u2019s cultural life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>OMA<br \/>\n<\/strong>OMA is an international practice operating within the traditional boundaries of architecture and urbanism. AMO, a research and design studio, applies architectural thinking to domains beyond.
